What injuries have you had in the past? Many! Currently a torn hamstring and most recent before that a femoral stress fracture.
How do you feel about your injury mentally? They were very demoralizing because both came after a long layoff of postpartum running and happened as I finally started to get back into racing again.
What's your recovery plan? The recovery included a few weeks non weight bearing then a 6 week cross training phase then return to run de weighted with the LightSpeed Lift.
How has LightSpeed Lift been incorporated into your training and recovery plan? It has greatly helped the return from injury go smoothly- it’s a safe way to get back to higher volume and quicker paces and it still feels like my typical running form.
What do you love best about the LightSpeed Lift? I like that I can run pain free and still feel comfortable and natural.
How long have you been using the LightSpeed Lift? Almost two years! It was so nice to use while pregnant and postpartum as well. It allowed me to run further into the third trimester than I would have normally been able to.
What benefits do you see physically and mentally from using LightSpeed Lift? Physically the LightSpeed Lift helps me run faster and more without risking injury especially when Im in certain phases like pregnancy, postpartum or just being a masters athlete now. Mentally it feels so nice to run pain free - when I hopped onto it 8 months pregnant i smiled so big because it felt great to do a run with ease and bounce again.
When do you use the LightSpeed Lift? And why? I use it when I feel something sore and need to offload a run, or coming back from injury as a safe way to ease into faster paces and longer volume. Most recently I used it while pregnant and it helped me run further through the third trimester when I normally would have had to stop with pain in my hips and back. Also returning to run from pregnancy it has been the most helpful, it offloads the pelvic floor enough to safely get my legs used to running again.
Which LightSpeed Lift system do you use? I use the LSX-500 at my home because I planned to use it heavily and for faster stuff and we wanted to offer it to anyone in our track club so it would get used a lot in that way as well-it fits nicely into our garage gym and the Woodway Treadmill was a bit large so that was part of decision too.
