What injuries have you had in the past? Hamstring strain.
How do you feel about your injury mentally? It was frustrating to have to reduce training during an important part of the season, but I had to learn to be patient and find other ways to train than my typical schedule.
What's your recovery plan? Immediately after the strain, I utilized the Lightspeed to continue to run while letting the muscle heal. After healing, I continued to use the Lightspeed during the season to keep my legs fresh and prevent it from happening again.
How has LightSpeed Lift been incorporated into your training and recovery plan? I've used Lightspeed Lift to keep healthy during the season, especially during big training weeks. I use it for a lot of my doubles and during some easy training runs.
What do you love best about the LightSpeed Lift? I appreciate that I am able to run my usual pace, or faster, on the Lightspeed Lift while keeping the heart rate down and helping my legs recover. I think it’s a really useful tool not only for staying healthy, but also for getting some extra training stimulus.
How long have you been using the LightSpeed Lift? For 3 years.
Which LightSpeed Lift system do you use? LSP-400 at UV and LSX-500 in photoshoot with Kevin Gunawan.

“Gary’s smile tells me so much about his attitude towards running and life. Put in the work and share the joy." - Malcolm Macaulay, LightSpeed Lift Founder
"Martin is known for his trademark eye glasses & his Clark Kent transformation when he steps on the track. But what do I really enjoy about Gary Martin? He’s a quintessential Philadelphian! He’s gritty and puts in the miles. After his historic run at the 2025 Millrose Games, Gary public remarks included equal excitement with the Birds Super Bowl victory later the same day!" - Molly Watcke, LightSpeed Lift Sales & Marketing
